Our role is to lead UC Early Learning Center towards a sustainable future by adopting sound ethical and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the center has adequate resources to advance its mission. Formatted Board Requirements Visual Text Board Requirements Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): 1.Attend all board and committee meetings and functions, such as special events. 2.Be informed about UCELC's mission, services, policies, and programs. 3.Review agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings. 4.Serve on committees or task forces and offer to take on special assignments. 5.Make a personal financial contribution to UCELC. 6.Inform others about UCELC. 7.Suggest possible nominees to the board who can make significant contributions to the work of the board and the organization. 8.Keep up-to-date on developments in early childhood education. 9.Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities, such as reviewing the annual financial statements. Board Meeting Times 2017: First Thursday of every month 10:30a – 12:00p Formatted Onboarding Visual Text Onboarding Candidates interested in serving on UC Early Learning Center’s Board of Directors should submit a current resume/CV and a statement of interest to the Chair of the Board Membership Committee. After the board membership committee reviews applicants those candidates who the committee feels best fits the needs of the board of directors will be invited for a hour long interview with members from the board membership committee. Once a candidate is identified by the board membership committee as a fit for the board their name will be advanced to the full board and brought for a vote. If the candidate receives a majority vote in the affirmative the candidate will be officially invited to join the UCELC Board of Directors. The process may take 2-3 months for official confirmation. Once the candidate is approved they will be invited to attend a tour and orientation prior to their first meeting.
